Hey Ivy Elites,

~~flashback~~
“Callie?” Anton asked when he saw me standing out front of his door. “Yeah.” I said. “Come in.” He replied and I walked into the house.
Once I walked in and shut the door, he offered to get me a glass of water. “Yeah, thank-you.” I replied before removing my coat. “You can have a seat, if you’d like.” Anton said quickly before walking into the kitchen. I didn’t sit down, instead I walked to the back patio for I was in need of fresh air. I stood on the patio in awe of the lights that lit up downtown in the distance. When he returned, I faced him, happily accepting the glass of water. We stood next to each other in a moment of god-awful silence. “I came to talk to you.” I said in an attempt to fill the awkwardness. “Yeah, I figured.” He said sitting on one of the metal chairs that we’re on the patio. “It’s about us…” I replied trailing off and letting the words linger. He looked at me patiently. “Now, I’m not going to break up with you-” I started. “I just think we need some more time to get to know each other. I think we should possibly go on a series of dates and maybe I’ll be able to forgive you and we can move forward.” I said waiting on a response. “Okay, I’ll do it.” He said walking towards me. “Callie, I’ll do anything to have a chance to be with you again. I love you. I don’t ever want to lose you.” He continued. “Then, show me that. Treat me that way.” I said turning away so he couldn’t see the tears threatening to fall. “I promise I will.” He said walking around me to face me slowly giving me a hug.
In that moment, I never wanted to leave. I felt comfortable, safe, everything I had before I found him with that girl. “I think I’m going to go home.” I said to him. “I hope to hear from you soon.” I said walking back into the house to retrieve my coat.

I woke up the next morning feeling content. I was happy with what happened between Anton and I. I looked at my phone, not all that surprised when I saw a text message from Anton asking when our first date would be.
After I replied, I had to head to the Library before class to grab a book. I let Sophia, Gabrielle, and Taylor know before I left the house to see if they needed a ride into campus. They all said they didn’t and that they’d take the public transportation system.
As I walked into the Library, I accidentally ran into someone. I looked ahead of me and was surprised with who I saw. It was someone who I hoped I would never see again. It was Levi. But, that wasn’t even the worst part. Levi was holding hands with Jacklynn. She was the one girl who kept continuously getting on my bad side. “I’m sorry…” I said handing Levi his dropped papers. “Callie, wait.” He said before I could walk away. I waited for a second, “What’s up?” I asked crossing my arms. “I hope that we can be friends.” He said to me quickly. “Oh, yeah. I don’t see why not.” I replied, still not sure about what I was saying. “Are you dating anyone? Why don’t we go on a double date?” He asked gesturing to Jacklynn. “Y’all are dating? Funny, why am I not surprised. But, yeah. I am and I’m not interested in hanging out with my ex and my sister.” I said turning on my heel.
After class, I headed home to spend time with Sophia and Taylor. “So, I ran into Levi today.” “Who’s that?” Taylor asked. “A guy Callie used to date, she met him in Vegas on one of our summer sorority trips.” Sophia replied. “How is he?” Sophia continued. “Apparently, he’s dating Jacklynn.” I said softly. “No way!” Taylor said obviously surprised. Sophia got up and gave me hug. “I think I’m just going to go to Anton’s tonight.” I said once I heard a door open with a voice that sounded distinctively like Levi’s. “Are you sure that’s a good idea?” Taylor asked. “Yeah, I think so.” I said before grabbing some clothes and going to my car to leave.
I called Anton and let him know that I was coming over to stay the night. That night, he took the couch and I took his bed. About halfway through the night though, I got up to get him to bring him to the room. I loved him, and I knew I had to tell him. I woke him up and said, “I love you.” He smiled at me and replied, “I love you, too.” before hugging me. He joined me in the room and when I woke up the next morning, I never felt more safe, more comfortable, more loved than I did in that moment.
‘Cause little do you know
I, I love you ’til the sun dies
